Founder's Note — Veri Sızıntısı

Why I Started

A short note. Not a company pitch.

I work in cybersecurity. As part of the job, I regularly see data breaches, leaked databases on the dark web, and compromised credentials floating around. There are enterprise tools for accessing this information, but they are all built with enterprise in mind. There was no simple, free tool where an ordinary person could just ask "has my email been leaked?"

I figured I could build it, so I did.

The first version was just a basic query tool. Over time I added a breach database, wrote Argus Engine, launched a blog, translated everything into 5 languages. None of it was planned in advance; I added things as I saw the need, whenever I had time.

Still just me.

This is not a startup story. No investors, no co-founders. Just someone working in the field who saw a gap worth closing.

The core feature launched free and will stay free. Commercial tools are coming too, but the core will always be accessible.

This takes maintenance, takes time, and sometimes priorities clash. But it is being used and it is working, and that is enough.

I wrote this note because you might want to know who is behind it.

With respect, Mehmet Eren Akyol Founder, Veri Sızıntısı
